“1950s Songs of the Silver Screen” is a special edition of our “movie music” film history series that was first cobbled together for public libraries celebrating the founding of their institution during the decade at the center of the “Golden Age of Movie Musicals.” It naturally focuses on award-winning films and outstanding performances from the 1950s. But we’ve expanded the concept to include later films that paid homage to the 1950s in a variety of different ways.
